Jakarta, Suaramerdekanews.com,22 November 2021. A lot of excitement happened during the Jakarta Film Week 2021
on its third day, Saturday, 20 November 2021. The Masterclass consisting of two sessions was
amongst the exciting activities during this event presented by the Jakarta Provincial Tourism and
Creative Economy Office.

In the first session, Mmabatho Kau from Full Circle Lab became the speaker for the
Screenwriting Masterclass, which took place on November 20, 2021, from 12.00 – 17.30 WIB.

Before discussing how to prepare and write a script, Kau gave a little introduction, that there are
many aspects that can affect a film series to be considered interesting.
“One of them is highlighting an interesting theme, whether it’s about family, strength, love, or
revenge,” he said. In addition, of course, the plot, the characters, the world built, and the strong
story engine are also important elements prior to preparing a script.

No less exciting in the second session, Sahana Kamath, a professional in her field, shared her
knowledge on how to make series for online platforms. She has worked in international
production in 25 markets and 20 languages.

She has held senior development and production
positions for studios and networks, production companies, and OTT including Sony Pictures
Television (International), Discovery Networks (South Asia), and VIU (Southeast Asia).
On the third day of the Jakarta Film Week, a number of Indonesian films and world cinemas
were also screened. One of the Indonesian films that were screened was Cadet 1947.

Premiering for the first time in theaters. The screening, which was held at Metropole XXI,
received a warm welcome from the audience.
The film Cadet 1947 brought back a sense of love for the nation and made the audience learn
history in an interesting way because this film was inspired by the incident of Indonesia’s first air
attack on the Dutch army during the First Dutch Military Aggression in 1947.

The producer
Celerina Judisari intends the audience to love the homeland through the film.
“Content-wise, this film is about love for the nation, but we don’t force love for Indonesia. If you
think this film is worth spreading, then when it’s spread, it’s the same as spreading the love for our homeland,” she said.

The excitement will continue as the Jakarta Film Week is still taking place until 21 November
2021. The event will be held offline at CGV Grand Indonesia, Metropole Cinema XXI, and Hotel
Ashley Wahid Hasyim.

In the meantime, all online movie screenings can be watched exclusively
on Vidio.com. All events are open to the public and free of charge, and ticket reservations can
be made through LOKET.

The film program includes the Global Feature that contains feature-length films, the Global
Short that features screenings of short films, from Indonesia and abroad. The selected feature
films and short films will compete to win the Global Feature Award and the Global Short Award.

There is also the Direction Award, a competition for Indonesian films that are screened during
the festival.
Another program that focuses on funding is the Jakarta Film Fund. The Jakarta Film Week
